Immersive Border is my photo framing app for iPhone and iPad. It gives a single photo a finished presentation: a quiet white border, a film-inspired frame, a ticket, or a small gallery scene. If your picture already looks right and you want to change how it is presented, that is the task this app is built around.

Start with the photograph, then choose its setting
A border changes the relationship between a photograph and the space around it. A narrow white edge can separate a dark image from a busy feed. A wider margin can make a landscape feel more like a print. A ticket or postage-stamp style can give a travel photo a different character without requiring you to arrange each decorative element yourself.
The current App Store version offers 24 presets. These include white borders, immersive backgrounds, tickets, postage stamps, 35mm film, a camera viewfinder, vinyl records, and a museum gallery. You can compare styles while keeping the same photo selected, so choosing a frame becomes a visual decision.
How to frame a photo on iPhone
- Choose a preset and select a photo.
- Swipe between styles to compare how they treat the same image.
- Double-tap the photo or open Crop to adjust the composition. Drag to position the image and pinch to zoom.
- Adjust the controls available for that style, such as margins, colors, corners, or shadows.
- Save the finished image to Photos or use the iOS share sheet.
For a first attempt, try a simple white border and concentrate on the outer margin. Check whether the subject still has enough space around it before adding text or choosing a more decorative style. The original photo is preserved.
If you want to reuse your adjustments, tap Save Preset. Temporary edits are not automatically saved as a reusable style. Text for tickets and other text-based themes belongs to the current photo and is kept separate from the saved style.
When camera details add to the story
Immersive Border can display available camera, lens, exposure, date, and place information from a photo's metadata. Those details are useful for a travel memory or a photograph whose making is part of its story. They depend on what the image actually contains; an image with missing metadata cannot provide the same information.
Before sharing a location-bearing frame, check that the displayed place is something you intend to publish. Photos are processed on the device, while Apple system geocoding may be used to turn existing coordinates into a place name.
Free export and the Pro option
Standard export is free, selected by default, and supports up to 2400 pixels on the longest edge. The optional one-time Pro purchase unlocks High Quality export up to 6000 pixels. There is no subscription. Increasing export dimensions does not create detail that was absent from the original image.
Common questions
Can I add a plain white border? Yes. White-border presets are a starting point, and available spacing controls let you refine the presentation.
Can I use it without creating an account? Yes. The app requires no account and includes no ads or analytics.
